Our Trustees

Neil Allen

A ‘champion’ of tennis for most of his adult life, Neil has held many roles in tennis including Manager of Delta Indoor Tennis Centre and Director of Tennis at the Welsh National Tennis Centre, Cardiff and was formerly Chairman on Wiltshire Lawn Tennis Association and LTA Licenced Coach.

Neil has been been actively involved in the negotiations for the development at St Marks for some 12 years and so it’s of great personal achievement to act as Trustee of Swindon Community Tennis as well as carrying out the role of Tennis and Operations Manager.

Now retired from Swindon Borough Council, where he was previously Development and Project Manager, Neil continues to keep his tennis ‘career’ going as Chairman of Swindon Tennis Club and the Swindon & District League Management Committee as well as an LTA Referee across the country.

Paul Casey

Paul’s involvement with tennis at Swindon started around 20 years ago and he currently holds the position of Treasurer at the Trust and was active from the very beginning in negotiation with the council for the development of the courts and pavilion.

Paul continues to balance being Treasurer with working full time at RWE Generation, where he’s been employed in excess of 40 years as a Business Analyst.

Paul is very keen to ensure the ethos of the Trust succeeds, which is to provide affordable tennis to the community of Swindon and to help in the development of the St Mark’s Ground.

Tim Poole

Tim’s involvement with Swindon Tennis started through taking his daughter to lessons. After a few months, some of the parents suggested playing themselves while their children were being coached. Soon, Tim was playing league tennis for Swindon Tennis Club, albeit for the then ‘E’ team. It wasn’t long before he was ‘volunteered’ to join the committee!

Along with Neil and Paul, Tim helped set up Swindon Community Tennis, a charity committed to providing affordable tennis opportunities to families in and around Swindon. Working in partnership with Swindon Borough Council and the LTA, The Pavilion and Tennis facility at St Mark’s was developed providing first class affordable tennis.

As Chairman of Swindon Community Tennis, Tim is responsible for the governance of the charity, ensuring it sticks to its mission of providing affordable tennis for all.
